Lamplight Sessions - Libby DeCamp

Mosinee, WI

Libby DeCamp is a Detroit-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a stellar catalog of music, including the recent project- Moonrisers (Easy Eye Sound), produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Libby's songs evoke the spirit of roots music from bygone eras, drawing inspiration from prewar blues, old-time string bands, early R&B, and country western. With one foot in the past and an eye on the future, she is a writer who tugs at the ageless thread of truth-telling and communal spirit through song, and tramps into continuous new territories- even at times bordering the mystical and psychedelic. Her lyrical edge and sweet, bluesy, un-prettied voice come from the gut and create something delightfully rare- whether solo with guitar in hand, or in the full picture of her band’s unique string and groove-centered alchemy.

Old Pup is a warmly haunted folk outfit led by Milwaukee-based pedal steel player/songwriter, Will Hansen- who writes lyrically vivid (at-times experimental) country-tinged songs. Sophomore album, Spider Towns releases independently on February 28 and features intimate, ethereal recordings captured in living rooms, warehouse hallways, and wide-open fields spanning Milwaukee, New Orleans, & New Mexico. Hansen’s lyrical dexterity is at the forefront of this latest collection, seamlessly weaving the everyday with the interstellar. In the words of songwriter Chris Acker, “Old Pup is Rosetta-stoned.”
